Mr. Samer Qiblawi joined Al Bawardi Marine Services (which was subsequently renamed as Marine Capabilities LLC) in 1994. As the President & CEO, Mr. Samer is responsible for the organization's strategic management, operational and business excellence, productivity, budgeting and process improvement.A graduate from American University of Beirut, Mr. Qiblawi is proficient in English, Arabic, and French.
Director - Operations
Capt. Abdallah Chehab (M. Mar. AFNI) joined Al Bawardi Marine Services (which was subsequently renamed as Marine Capabilities LLC) in 1999 as Technical Manager, before taking on the role of Operations Manager and DPA in 2001. As Director - Operations, Capt. Chehab is responsible for asset integrity, operational effectiveness, and HSE compliance of the organization.Prior to joining Marcap, Capt. Chehab was the General Manager (Marine Division) of Sea Shell Navigation Co., Ltd. which owns and operates Reefer Vessels.Capt. Chehab is also a member of the Middle East Technical Committee of American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and an Associate Fellow of The Nautical Institute
Director - Administration
Mr. Sameh Qiblawi joined Al Bawardi Marine Services (which was subsequently renamed as Marine Capabilities LLC) in 1999 as Commercial Manager, where he was also overseeing purchasing, personnel, administrative, catering, and computer department on top of his commercial duties.As the Director - Administration, Mr. Sameh oversees the organization's Human Resource, Training and Development, Administrative, Financial and Accounting matters.Prior to joining Marcap, Mr. Sameh held several managerial positions in different establishments.A graduate from Lebanese American University, Mr. Qiblawi is proficient in English, Arabic and French.
Mr. Ramakant Akerkar joined Marcap in April 2019. A staunch and thorough finance professional, he possesses rich organizational experience of 30 years in international shipping industry encompassing finance management, operations and commercial engagements.Prior to joining Marcap, Mr. Ramakant was Head of Regional Accounting Office in Middle East Cluster of the United Arab Shipping Company Dubai, which is the largest container shipping company in the world, and led a team of over 40 staffs in addition to third party agencies in Oman. He also played a pivotal role in centralizing overall accounting spanning across multiple geographies and culture in his capacity, covering Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq.A graduate from Mumbai University with Financial Accounting & Auditing as a special subject, and post graduated in Computer Applications, Mr. Ramakant is also a professionally trained ISO Auditor by Det Norske Veritas (DNV France).
Senior Manager - Commercial and Business Development
Mr. Shingo Tomie joined Marcap in April 2018.As Senior Manager - Commercial and Business Development, Mr. Tomie is responsible for business development, chartering, commercial and marketing for the organization. Prior to joining Marcap, Mr. Tomie was part of the marketing and commercial team of offshore marine vessel owners / operators such as Sanko Offshore (of Sanko Steamship), EMAS Offshore (of Ezra Holdings), and Lanpan Singapore, where the area of coverage encompassed Australasia, South East Asia, Middle East and West Africa.A graduate from Curtin University of Technology in Australia, Mr. Tomie hails from Singapore and is proficient in English, Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese.
