Introducing Marcap’s Official Sustainability Policy

At Marcap, protecting the environment, ensuring safe operations, and supporting our local communities have always been fundamental to how we do business. As our operations continue to expand, we recognized the practical need to formally structure these established practices. We are announcing the launch of Marcap's official Sustainability Policy and Plan, a framework that directly integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values into our daily operations.

This structured policy applies across all our offices, vessels, and value chain partners, ensuring a unified approach to responsible business. We have also established a firm baseline rule: where our policy differs from local laws, the stricter requirement will always prevail.

Environment: Reducing Our Ecological Footprint

Our primary goal is to actively prevent pollution, minimize our climate impact, and promote a circular economy. Key actions and targets within this pillar include:

  • Adopting energy efficient vessel technologies, utilizing shore power where possible, and minimizing harmful CO2, SOx, and NOx emissions.
  • Implementing predictive maintenance systems through our Computerized Maintenance Management System to optimize fuel efficiency.
  • Applying a strict waste management hierarchy: we focus on preventing waste first, then reusing, recycling, and recovering, leaving disposal as an absolute last resort.
  • Eliminating single use plastics across all operations by the end of 2026, alongside transitioning to LED and smart energy systems in our corporate offices.
  • Utilizing biodegradable cleaning agents and conducting thorough environmental risk assessments before operating in sensitive areas to protect local marine biodiversity.

Social: Empowering People and Communities

We are dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure workplace while continuously investing in the development of our people. Our specific social commitments include:

  • Strictly enforcing a "Stop Work Authority" across all levels of the organization to empower employees to halt any task that cannot be done safely.
  • Expanding our Safety Culture Ladder training and utilizing a digital HSE observation reporting system, with a set target of recording 30 observations per vessel each month.
  • Delivering structured employee development and leadership training plans through digital learning platforms and specialized softwares.
  • Strengthening our community engagement by actively supporting the ADNOC In-Country Value (ICV) strategy, prioritizing local hiring, and launching corporate social responsibility programs focused on marine conservation.

Governance: Ensuring Ethical and Secure Operations

Achieving our environmental and social goals requires strong internal management, data security, and transparent communication. Our governance framework focuses on:

  • Upholding strict business ethics by requiring 100% annual staff acknowledgment of our corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Hosting regular engagement sessions with clients, regulators, and employees, including a target of one dedicated meeting per month to monitor compliance.
  • Enhancing our data protection and cybersecurity infrastructure through the full rollout and active monitoring of SOPHOS firewall and endpoint security.
  • Building a sustainable supply chain by giving distinct preference to vendors who hold ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, while actively aiming to reduce procurement from high risk suppliers.

This newly formalized Sustainability Policy and Plan provides Marcap with a clear, measurable, and accountable framework to strengthen our performance. It represents a starting point for our future growth in this vital area. By implementing this strategy, we are actively enhancing our operational reliability and positioning Marcap as a responsible, forward-looking leader in the offshore marine industry.
